Good Morning! Karen with you again.. I love the fact sometimes that the US is a day behind us, it means when I'm running late , I get an extra day to the month.. well sort of anyway..
I needed it this month.. I want to share with you my version of Tim Holtz's February tag for 12 tags of 2014.
This is Tim's version - a gorgeous tag ...
and here is my version.. I started off with good intentions.. I die cut and coloured my feathers.. and with every good intention, like I mentioned before I sat down and started at the beginning of Tim's step by step instructions.. things started to take on a mind of their own then.. and this is what I ended up with.. A bit different to Tim's but a few of the main elements of the tag are the same, the stencilled background, and die cut and distress glittered feathers..
And as always you cant go past a few close ups..
I love the combination of Distress inks and Distress stain. For my background I've used Distress stain in Broken China, Pumice Stone and Frayed Burlap, and Distress Inks in Walnut stain and Pumice Stone. The background detal comes from layering stencil - Honeycomb. and randomly stamped text stamp from the Papillon stamp set
I 've also used a few different bits of idea-ology - Curio Knobs, Baubles, Crinkle ribbon, Label clips, and Remnant Rubs- Words
The feathers are die cut grunge board using the Mini Feather and Ink Well movers and shapers set. I then painted them with Picket Fence Distress Paint, and covered with Rock Candy Distress Glitter and inked the edges with Pumice Stone Distress Ink.
Thanks so much for stopping by again.
Hope to see you again soon. Have a wonderfully creative weekend!
