Hi Guys.. Yup it's Karen here with you again.. and yup I've got another tag to share with you.. hope you aren't getting sick of them!!
Today I'm going to go through with you step by step how I did this Tag..
I had been eyeing off the Wendy Vecchi stamps that are in the store for a little while, and finally got a set. These stamps are just lovely to use, they are so nice to stamp with, The one I have used is now sold out, but the others that are left are just as nice, There is only a couple of sets left in the store here and here ( at a great price too) so you'd better get in quick if you think you might like some.
I started off by inking my background using a mix of distress inks in Broken China, Peacock Feathers and Walnut Stain, then flicked with water and dried. ( I think this may be my new favourite colour combo!).
My next step, I stamped the background stamp from my stamp set with embossing ink, and embossed it with Ranger Sticky embossing powder, and then sprinkled it with peeled paint distress glitter while it was still sticky.
I love how it looks, with nice subtle vintage sparkle.
Next I took the quote from the stamp set, and stamped it onto waxed kitchen paper using archival ink in Jet black, fussy cut around the quote and stuck it on to my tag using Multi Medium in matte. By using the multi medium and waxed paper when it is dry all you can see if a very feint outline of the paper, as you can see in the photo below. I also added in a stitched border around my tag at this point..
Next I pulled out a few bits and pieces.. a fussy cut butterfly left over from an old project, some wooden prima embellishments, and a Tim Holtz Numerals and pen nibs, and a Graphic 45 Keyhole.
I played around with them a bit till I had them arranged just right and finally stuck them down, again using my multi medium and I was done.
I really love the pop of orange against the background!
Thanks for stopping by again, I hope I've shared a little inspiration with you.. Don't forget we'd love for you to share your gorgeous creations with us on the Wild about Scrap Facebook page, so why not pop on by and show us what you've been up to!
Happy Creating
Karen
