Hello,
I was spending time in the crafty world of blogland and came across this fantastic Accordian Flip Album. This is an amazing project - perfect as a gift - you end up with 9 places to add photos and I have created pockets on two of the panels in which I have added tags.
Minimal products are used for the base project - 1 sheet of cardstock for the base, 2 sheets of patterned paper and I also used 1 part sheet of flocked acetate (to create pockets).
First step is to cut your cardstock into a 9" x 12" piece. Along the long side Score at 4" and at 8". Rotate card 90 degrees right and score down the middle at 4 1/2". Then cut along score lines - on one side to centre line as shown.
Fold your accordian - two outer ones one way - and the middle one the opposite way. Then fold your card vertically - like an accordian.
The next step is to decorate your panels - make a plan of how you would like your panels to be positioned when the album is folded i.e. front cover, back cover etc. This is also where you decide if you wish to add pockets for tags.
The pockets are positioned on the side of the panels that don't flip - I have used the third flat side as the front cover.
Tags could also be used as another photo spot.
The next step is to design your front cover and to add any other embellishments you would like throughout the album.
This photo shows the opposite side to the one above where you can see the layout of the patterned papers - on this side however there are panels where the same patterned paper is side by side but when the card is actually folded they don't appear to be side by side which is why I suggested planning the position of the papers before you start adhering them.
A great gift idea - could be embellished for any theme - travel, baby, love etc!
(My inspiration came from virginianebel.blogspot.com.au - thanks Virginia for your awesome idea!)
