"Love" Layout

FINALLY!!! Here is a creation from me using my first ever DT kit from Wild About Scrap (that was bursting with gorgeous goodies - thanks Veronica!)...

I created this LO using papers from the Fancy Pants "Be You" range - which is bright, happy and full of colour...right up my alley! I cut, distressed & machine stitched one sheet to my cardstock to form the background, and with another I handcut a large artisan shape and then a doily with my Big Shot to add dimension & colour. I also added in a couple of plain white paper doilies I had in my stash.

When it came to embellishing the LO, I started with the title. I used a "Tim Holtz Texture Fades - Valentine Background and Borders" embossing folder set along with some "Core'dinations Cut & Emboss Gemstones" cardstock (these are the PERFECT size for use in embossing folders!) I embossed the word "love" onto the cardstock and then handcut & mounted it using foam mounting tape. I did the same thing with the hearts, which were embossed from one of the border folders.

The large flowers, which I used to add a splash of girly colour, are from the "Prima - Dollhouse Collection - Tuesday" and I highlighted them further by adhering additional rhinestones & pearls to their centres. The flowers were complimented by using "Prima - Garden Picks - Small Butterflies" which I attached simply using staples for a bit of contrast. Lastly, I added a scattering of small flowers and a piece of twine (both from my stash).

That's it from me for now,
Sue P  :-)

Very beautiful Sue. You're not the Queen of Colour for nothing. I'm patting myself on the back for being able to choose flowers that match the paper exactly even from the other side of the world! I love what you did with the Embossing Folder in creating the title.

Really gorgeous layout and having so much colour definitely doesn't detract from the photo. She gets more beautiful in every layout!
