A Year in Time - January

I'm basing my album on 2012....it was such an interesting year living in Italy.

The album is an 8x8" which is a different size for me.  I'm used to doing 12x12" and didn't realise what a huge difference in size there was.  However, after a bit of a rocky start I think I've got a handle on it ;)....a hit for anyone doing this...photo size is important and the smaller the better for these smaller albums.

Materials used:
  • Graphic 45 - Place in Time papers;
  • Graphic 45 - Place in Time Alpha Stickers;
  • Graphic 45 - Staples - Metal Key Hole;
  • Prima Flowers;
  • BoBunny - Rhinestones;
  • Buttons
  • Tim Holtz - idea-Ology - Chit-Chat Stickers;
  • Tim Holtz - idea-Ology - Paper String (yes, it's my new addiction);
  • Green Tara - Mesh Ribbon
  • Bazzill Cardstock;
  • Martha Stewart - Edge Punch.

I hope you enjoy!

A Year In Time - January

I am loving the very different challenge that has been given to Sue and I as part of the Wild About Scrap Design Team.  The 'AYear In Time' project will document a year in our lives, in my case it will be 2012.  The Graphic 45 Easel  8x8Album forms the base for our month by month creations.  Here is my page for January.  In January last year we had a wonderful day at Healsville Sanctuary and the photos show Craig enjoying a bite to eat before the 'Birds Of Prey' display.

For this page I have used the following from the Wild About Scrap Store

Graphic 45 - Place In Time- 8x8 paper pad - January Foundation, Calendar and Sentiments page
Want To Scrap - silver rhinestones
Core'dinations -6x6 Vintage Collection
May Arts  Ribbin- Olive and Brown Reversible checks
Want To Scrap - Build Your Own Bling

Other items used
Brown dye Ink
Script stamp
Embossing folder

Love the colour and texture of all the cardstock in the Core'dinations pack - I used an embosing folder and then scuffed up the surface of the card with sandpaper, I also distressed the edges and rubbed a little brown ink over the top
How great is the Want To Scrap Build Your Own Bling???  Love all the pieces that you can place on their own or combined to amke lots of swirly bling !!!

Off to complete my February page ... be back soon

A Year in Time - January

January

 January is my birthday month and for many years now my wonderful husband has always spoilt me with a beautiful bouquet of flowers from Jesson's Flowers and this year was no exception! Always roses as they are my favourite flower.

My A Year In Time album will be pieces of my life in 2013.

January

1.  I chose to use the reverse of G45 Place in Time foundation January page as the cool blues just didn't go.
2.  I matted the G45 onto Pink Bazzill after I distressed with TH distress tool and gently inked with Vintage   Photo distress ink.
3.  Slightly overlap the G45 cut aparts and heart shaped doily embellishments under photo which was matteded on pink bazzill.
4.  Add a chipboard swirl which was painted with TH Distress Paint Antique Linen, then lightly spray with GlimmermistTattered Rose.
5.  Using Gelly Roll glitter pen Green, colour in the leaves.
6.  Arrange blossoms and buds, adding some tiny paper swirls.
7.  Place Pinkpaislee Artisan Chipboard butterfly's which have been inked with TH distress ink Victorian Velvet and addsome pink pearls.
8.  Randomly place a few Kaiser Pink Pearls on the swirls in each corner.
9.  Finish with some sayings from the extra cut aparts from the back of the G45 paper pack.

I hope you are able to play along and make your very own special calender of events, it's going to be so much fun!

Thanks for stopping by!

G45 - French Country - "Traditional Dress"

Wow!  Aren't the new Graphic 45 papers just gorgeous?!  I had a lot of fun making this double layout using the Graphic 45 French Country papers.  The colours in this range are definitely "my" colours.

This layout is something I've been looking forward to making for a long time.  These are the traditional horses and carts of Sicily which appear on special occasions.  The horses are almost completely covered by decorations and the men are in the back dressed in traditional clothes and play music.  They truly are special to see.  I think the French Country papers are just right for this layout.

Ballerina - Mixed Media Album

This has got to be the most fun I've had creating anything!!!  Seriously, why didn't I discover mixed-media albums before???  I spent about a week and a half cutting out pictures, slapping on paint and sprayiing pretty sparkly stuff all over the place....I feel just like I've spent time back in kindergarten. :)
